COMPARE THE COMPLETE PROPOSAL

A model-specific starting point

This comparison uses Q.HOME CORE G3 and Tesla Powerwall 3. Earlier Q.HOME CORE configurations and Powerwall versions have different documents. Confirm the current U.S. specification and proposed installation configuration before ordering.

CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Published specifications to verify

Item: Energy capacity; Q.HOME CORE G3: 13.1 kWh per G3 unit; Tesla Powerwall 3: 13.5 kWh per Powerwall 3. Item: System approach; Q.HOME CORE G3: AC-coupled storage; confirm hub and inverter design; Tesla Powerwall 3: Integrated solar inverter; confirm site configuration. Item: Warranty reference; Q.HOME CORE G3: 15 years or 68 MWh, subject to terms; Tesla Powerwall 3: 10-year warranty, subject to terms. Item: Expansion; Q.HOME CORE G3: Qcells describes 26.2 kWh with the appropriate hub; Tesla Powerwall 3: Confirm approved units and expansion configuration. Item: Final decision; Q.HOME CORE G3: Load plan, price, compatibility and written warranty; Tesla Powerwall 3: Load plan, price, compatibility and written warranty.

CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Capacity is not the same as backup power

Energy capacity in kWh helps describe how long a set of loads can run. Power in kW describes how much can run at once. A battery with enough energy can still be unable to start a particular motor or serve several large appliances simultaneously. Create a list of essential circuits and large starting loads. Ask the installer to explain any load controls, supported combinations and limitations when solar production is low.

CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Existing solar changes the design question

For an existing array, identify the inverter, electrical configuration, utility enrollment and permitted equipment. The project team must establish how storage can be integrated and whether changes affect interconnection treatment. For a new system, compare the entire solar-and-battery price and performance. An isolated battery price can exclude a gateway, electrical work, backup circuits, permits or commissioning.

CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Use the same operating assumptions

Compare the same daily consumption, backup reserve, outage duration scenario and solar production. A higher reserve can improve readiness for an outage while leaving less capacity for daily bill management. Request the warranty document with its capacity-retention, throughput and operating conditions. A longer headline term is only one part of the comparison; eligible use, exclusions and labor matter too.

VERIFY CURRENT PRODUCT INFORMATION

Review the manufacturer’s current documentation.

Product names, specifications, availability and warranty terms can change. Confirm the exact proposed model and controlling documents before making a decision.

RELATIONSHIP & PROJECT QUESTIONS

Know who is responsible for each part of the project.

Is All Star Solar Qcells, Axia or EnFin?

No. All Star Solar is an independent solar sales organization and authorized sales partner of Axia by Qcells. All Star Solar is not Qcells, Axia, EnFin, the equipment manufacturer or the installation contractor. The appropriately licensed installation contractor and all controlling product, warranty and program terms are identified in the final written proposal and agreements.

Who performs the installation?

Project fulfillment and installation are performed by the appropriately licensed contractor identified in the final written proposal and agreement. A service-area or product page does not represent a local All Star Solar installation office.

Are products, financing or savings guaranteed?

No. Equipment and program availability, approval, pricing, production, utility outcomes and savings are property- and applicant-specific. The final proposal, agreements and applicable warranties control.
